Captain Norb If a 4 ft deep channel was marked so that you could drive your boat up here and if the Coon Rapids Dam was removed. The lowest bridge at normal water levels has a14ft. clearance which is located at the old Hwy 101 which is now called Parrish Ave which runs from Otsego MN to Elk River. The other problem might be keeping your old house boat running. Distance from Winona to the bridge is only 160 river miles, which could be a very nice boat trip.

@CaptainNorb This was presented to The Elk Rier City Council on 12-6-10. Very receptive panel. I will try to get a copy of it on You Tube. It may be possible to find it as it was on Local access channel 12 in Elk River. The next step will be to put together a City Panel to study using the river in a way to stimulate the local economy.

Found about this on mymn.org Was the legislature very receptive to the concept? I doubt that my fifty year old houseboat would ever make it that far up the river from Winona. But good luck with this anyway.
