All About Lap Band Maintenence - How It Feels To Plateau

Basically I just ramble about all my feelings from pre-op to maintenence and where my head is at now. Coming to to terms with my weight and body the way it is NOW and not how it will be. Praising myself for my progress, and keeping my own ideas of body image and obesity in check.

  • youre so switched on ashley........you make so many valid points in this video, thanks heaps for sharing, i go in for lapband in 4 days, your videos have taught me a lot- cheers o/

  • I have the same thoughts when I see obese people. I HATE that I have those thoughts. It makes me think I am a bad person. I don't understand why I have those thoughts, like you said, we used TO BE those people!! Ugh.

  • Does it really stop you from eating too much? That's what I'm worried about. Like now, I eat all the time when I'm not feeling hungry or I overeat. Does it make you throw up when you eat too much?

  • i hope, hope, hope i look as good as you do after the lapband. i'm about the same size you were prior to surgery.

every new video i see, i think....this could be me...

  • Ashley - you look FANTASTIC :)

I so needed to hear this about enjoying where

we are right now - Great video :)

    Hugs & Love, Melissa :)

  • (part two) related problems.

I think the feelings that you mentioned of cockiness towards overweight people might be a misinterpretation in your mind, perhaps what you are thinking is that "I know what it's like to be in their shoes, I am so proud of myself for putting in the hard work to take care of my health". There is nothing wrong with feeling that at all, It's just a reminder when you see people suffering from weight problems of how successful you have been to be free of the problem.

  • You ARE a beautiful woman. Many woman would be envious of your body - you look like a goddess.

Stop comparing yourself to other people, you are a wonderful, healthy and gorgeous individual. =) Plus what you are doing for other people (myself included) by documentating your journey is an inspiration

Your videos were a major influence for me to go ahead with the lapband surgery, and I will always be grateful for everything that you have done for me and many other people suffering with weight
