If I remember correctly, there were 2 bodies (skeletons) found wedged in the rocks at the base of the falls.

I used pictures I took of the waterless falls to prove to my kids that the falls were turned off at night. I told them one morning the man that turned them on overselpt and that's how I got the pictures.

I was there that year. The US Army Corps of Engineers stopped the flow over the American side to study erosion and to see if they could slow it. We had visited several times before and after because we had relatives near there. That was the only time I was allowed to go on the wooden walkway. I still have a few large rocks that would have been underwater forever. Really impressive to a 9 year old boy.
