Well It seems you have dodged a bullet. I know a few artists that mix clays and have troubles, I wouldn't do a full kiln full. One of the artists You might want to look at is Les Manning great guy from Canada.

Thanks! I will look him up. I'm always looking for new stuff to check out.

Seems like the clear coat "removed" more of the dark clay accent?
Have you showed us your kiln? Seems it is very small, considering how few pieces you show for each opening. But then you can fire more often! A definite plus!
I agree with you about your fav pice - mine too.

I have two kilns, exactly the same... they aren't tiny...but I've seen bigger. I also don't load the kiln super full when I fire. The large bowl was the only thing I put on the top shelf.

Very cool! What kind of clay do you use? Is it Laguna? If you could let me know who makes the red clay and what it is called that would be great. I think it was the second item you spoke about, and I have been trying to find a red clay that is avail. here in SC. Laguna is a brand I can get here or highwater. Also, I love the big bowl you made... It came out really cool looking!

I thought I replied to this, but it isn't here. Anyway... I do use Laguna clay...most of the time. The red clay, is just called "Red clay" I think, and it fires to cone 5/6. Thanks for the comments.
