On May 9, 2008 at 11:02AM EST, a groundbreaking interchange took place. Alanagh Recreant of the non-profit Uthango in South Africa, SL developer Daniel Livingstone and Rik Panganiban of Global Kids participated in a live test of the mobile phone SMS-Second Life tool nicknamed "Switchboard."
