Well, Phil probably didn't practice. But we have to forgive Phil and give him credit for his incredible courage. Don't forget that he played at the London segment of Live Aid and then immediately jetted across the pond to play in Philly.
i remember live aid...tony was playing along with phil collins and tony was looking at phil like "didnt you practice this before you came on stage?"...HA!!!
Yeah! Tony Thompson hit really hard, but he had a great touch. Some of Tony's most famous grooves: Le Freak-Chic We Are Family-Sister Sledge Upside Down-Diana Ross Let's Dance-David Bowie Like A Virgin-Madonna Material Girl-Madonna Some Like It Hot-Power Station Get It On(Bang A Gong)-Power Station Addicted To Love-Robert Palmer Of course, he did a great job filling in for John Bonham at Led Zeppelin's reunion at Live Aid. RIP, Tony! We miss you! You are a legend!
this isnt a freestyle this is "touch me" off not or sale

And John Robinson truly is one of the most fantastic drummers around!!!!
He's been on so many recordings from so many different artists and I've had the pleasure of working with him on drum clinics and Yamah Groove Nights.
And i can say he's just fantastic!

JR Robinson and Tony Thompson, formerly of Chic, are the two best R&B drummers ever. Who agrees?
