this video was posted on youtube EXACTLY a month before i went into an eating disorder clinic in the boston (MA) area. that clinic saved me from the monster in my head. it saved me from myself.
i got out november 28 2010, and since the beginning of february 2011 i started having a difficult time again.
watching this video, makes me cry every single time i watch it.
but what's more... it makes me eat.
it keeps me alive. i cannot even begin to express my gratitude.

This made me cry like a baby. I hate being able to relate to something. but at the same time it's comforting to know there are others.

Thank you for a beautiful video. I have never suffered from an eating disorder myself, but I have seen three friends sent to clinics and countless others suffering. This video brought tears to my eyes right at the end as you all repeated "was you". All the time my friends suffered, they always told me all these negative descriptions of themselves, and couldn't see how beautiful they were to me and the rest of their Worlds. To hear you all say that, well...I find myself lost for adequate words.

I didn't believe it when i set out to begin recovering, but I can now say that recovery is worth it. <3

I am 12 years old and have had an eating disorder. Body Gossip helped me through it - you're an inspiration.

This video has so much meaning, I have suffered from Anorexia for 2 years now, and the first time I watched this I was litteraly winded. Tears came straight to my eyes because the words these people speak are exactly what I needed to hear. I am better then this disease.

Thank you, just thank you

Oh God, thank you so so much for this! I needed it today.

There has been some criticism of this video for not reflecting everyone's individual experience of having an eating disorder: But there is more than one way to have an eating disorder and more than one way to recover. Everyone is unique, and Laura Nation was writing HER story about how she felt. We make films of stories sent in from the public and invite EVERYONE in the UK to write their stories about their bodies. If you want a voice, write and submit your own story. Love BodyGossipTash X

@oceanicbream yes that was wot i was trying to get across. I still don't really like her that much thou. as much as I can relate to her (i have an ed to and have done for sooo long). I jus find her - considering shes been through hell - very judgemental and seems to look down her nose at people. apparently shes very rude. I don't like that! The "fame" seems to have gone to her head!
Where are the guys in this video? It's a multi-gender issue...

@Rellizate Hey, thanks for watching our film! There are guys in the video, the marvelous Jacob Anderson and Kieron Jecchinis, and Body Gossip has also worked with Gok Wan, Ewen Macintosh and Jermain Defoe. We pride ourselves that we are a multi-gender campaign, and we encourage stories from men as well as women. We also work in schools with 'Gossip School', and often find it's the boys who give us the most positive reaction because we do highlight that it's a multi-gender issue.
