If you go to another country, say France or Brazil, you would be expected to know that countries langue. America may be a melting pot of races, but this is an English speaking country, we seem to conform to other races langue’s, which I personally find offensive, if you want to come to this country, then learn English.

What an average citizen should be able to speak if he wants to succeed in the XXI century are 5 languages: Nahua, Chinesse, Arab, English, Spanish, Slabish

Any individuals after the year 2020 that speak less than those languages will be clearly in disadvantage towards the rest of the global competitors

Speaking only 3 languages you could still have networks covering 1/2 of the planet, speaking 2 or less will definitely set this person on the lower bridges of the pyramid

Dude, most mongolians speak Russian too, as a matter of fact, most mongolians I've met in europe and america are Trilinguals at least, some of those fuckers even speak 4 to 8 languages.

I think the most civilized solution to the problem is the pacific solution based on cultural strength of ALL subcultures ratter than a violent take over.

Well first you'll be surprised to know that the USA has no official language! All attempts as of today to make it official have failed. In the southwest the US signed a treaty that it would respect cultural traits and religion of Mexicans, well spanish is such a cultural trait.

In Houston Texas , walmart and H.E.B (a texas grocery store chain are opening spanish speaking only stores.) To these large companies its just about the market share.They think because they are going to be slick and cater to all the illegals here in Texas its no big deal if they make more profit. NO SIR it is a big deal. I fear Texas is being lost to Mexico in a culture war, and they are taking America without even Firing a shot!

Monolinguals are highly diinterested in other languages other than their own. Although they are the minority, they are still the dominant culture which means they hold the economic and political power. Well, laws and languages are not always related. When England was part of the Roman Empire, needless to say, their official language was Latin. But, in the end, they spoke whatever they wanted as you can realize fromt he fact they don't even speak a Romace language today. Similarly, and "English as Official Language" law would not really force anybody to speak English.
