In putting together the 40th birthday video for Pete, one of his buddies handed me a DVD containing footage from their college basketball games. At first glance through, the thoughts racing were what the heck to do with 4 hours of Division III basketball footage. But then the idea popped in what if we extracted each bad play that happened at various points and sliced it together to create a story...hmmm...
Working on the script for this and then doing a "green screen" basement filming of his friends as the ESPN commentators was a blast. When you get to turn friends/family into actors it makes the production that much more special, plus you get good outtake and blooper footage for the DVD extras!
And whoever once said that parody is the most sincere form of flattery was very smart and was probably just trying not to get their butt kicked for things like this.
