@goeland70 Oil is going to run out one way or the other. The amount of environmental damage we do in the meantime is going to decide whether or not we have clean resources to survive when that time comes. The sooner we accept the fact that the use of fossil fuels is not sustainable, and begin to change ourselves, the better.

@Robootification not really sure what you're getting at. So you want to put ourselves into serious debt and cause our economy to crash ? All that to be "green" and dive into untested technology ? Unfortunately, there has to be a balance of both. The oil sands co. are much better at cleaning up than they were yrs ago and getting better at it.

@goeland70 What good is money when you have no healthy land to live on? If you think this pollution wont affect you in years to come, think again. Money wont fix the inevitable problems that coincide with this pollution.

it's called " Oil Sands" and if you think all this green energy is the way to go just look at what happened to Spain when they went ahead with their green energy programs. They're now broke, deep in debt, their economy has crashed and unemployment is at a all time high. NDP has many great ideas, but who's going to pay for it all ? The NDP were elected in both Ontario and BC and they still haven't recovered years after they were voted out.

@SuperDutyCummins Harper got a majority... NOW we're all fucked.
We need Layton as PM. Experts have said that what the NDP wants to do is 100% feasible within the budget. He will invest more in clean energy which is better than Harper's pro-tarsand crap.
After this 4 year tenure by Harper, I'm sure everybody will have lost confidence in him. NDP government in 2015!
