  • @GreatExterminator It wasn't as significant.. with the exception of STS-27, there was no major damage. STS-101 suffered significant damage, an Atlantis flight.

  • @EndeavourLaunch

I looked up info concerning your description, and it doesn't match.

    Foam loss was a problem for several missions, notably STS-1, 4, 5, 7, 32, 50, 52, and 62 (as well as 27) .

STS-27 was flown before the change in formula for the foam; the change was made in 1995, after the missions I list were flown.

No documention shows a change in foam formula caused greater shedding problems.

  • piękne, beautiful, excellent job

  • QUERO GUARDAR PARA SEMPRE ESTAS IMAGENS COM SAUDADE

  • every time I see these pieces of ice flying around the shuttle. I am a little scared

  • @Boy75402 well, I'm not trying to make a political statement.. but Columbia was partly because of Al Gore.. he ordered NASA to use new 'environmentally clean' ways to place foam on the ET.. foam loss before then never really happened other than STS-27, after that a lot of missions had foam loss.. however its also mostly NASA's fault as they had a waiver for it for crew safety. Which is why I don't entirely blame Al Gore as NASA had all the data in front of them..

  • @HNDNV07 Arrow was pointing to the lost tile from the tail.

  • @lllllll0o Thats the tile lost off the tail.

  • I`ve never been compelled to comment on anything on youtube but this was stunning. Amazing editing, really clever.

  • @vicbub71

Everyone knows the loss of Columbia was Obama's fault ; )

Kidding of course, but you know how some people will go to any lengths to attack whomever is the current President.
