  • the tank is trying to push the scammell out of the corner, as the truck seems to be countersteering ?

  • Correct, the tank has rubber blocks in the tracks and so has more grip on grass than the Scammell, it does not want to turn.

  • no, the truck is indeed pulling the tank, but because the tank is tracked and is a skid steer, with no drive to the tracks it will try to continue straight. because it's so heavy, it pushes the rear of the truck wide, requiring him to countersteer.

  • What do you mean no when you're agreeing with what we both said?

  • where was this

  • F.O.T. Hellingly E.Sussex

  • Good old British Scammell doing what its does best

  • because i'm not agreeing. Renze said the tank is pushing, but that is incorrect; the truck is pulling the tank.

  • @alexrex20 the tank is probaly under its own steam its not very often you see a scammell actuly towing to much strain on an old truck and they have probaly spent all small fortune restoring it its also towing with an a frame it dont need to counter steer it would just drag the front round ripping up the grass

  • Meaty !

  • did anyone notice the confederate flag lol?

  • The same happens when you tow a dead tank with another one. When you turn and the straighten up it wants to keep turning

  • If you really want to argue: the truck is excerting a force on the tank, as it is pulling it. In order to maintain a constant speed, the tank has to excert a force on the truck as well, or both would be accelerating infinitely.

  • no i wouldn't. when a vehicle is being towed, is the tow truck being pushed by the car being towed? NO.

  • Alexrex, so you'd also argue that the glass is half empty, when i say its half full, eh ?

  • Nope. With it's tracks, the tank wants to run straight forward. What you are seeing is the effect of the tank resisting being slewed around by the truck.
