Arima Onsen (Hot Springs) is right on the back side of Rokko Mountain where I live. I often visit there with my family and when ever someone comes for a visit, we are certain to take them to Arima at least once! Arima Onsen is one of the oldest hot springs in Japan and often appears in written histories about Japan. The many natural minerals and ingredients found in the waters there are rare worldwide and are really wonderful for ones body. From the many temples and shrines to the beautiful, narrow, old town streets, the entire area is really a wonderful place to walk around and visit.

I have been in Japan now for a bit over 20 years. My interest in Japan started with Origami when I was 5 years old and after coming here in High School, I just could not stop coming back. I have enjoyed traveling all over Japan and studying many of the traditional arts such as Kimono, Tea Ceremony, Kendo and Kyudo. The more I see and learn the more I come to understand how much more there is to find out about. Japan really is a wonderful place to visit or live. I hope these videos give a taste of what one can do here, encourage those that have yet to visit, and give new ideas for people looking to try something new and interesting here. Yokoso!

  • Ummm iron and salt? is it rust and salt?

  • 白浜温泉、有馬温泉、道後温泉で日本三古湯。草津温泉、下呂温泉、有馬温泉で日本三名泉。有馬温泉は両方に入ってますね。兵庫県出身でありながら一度も行ったことないです。

  • he looks cute in the minute 6:59

  • Probably the highly-concentrated hot spring invades it from skin in around five minutes and seems to flow into the blood. The effect of the hot spring is not proved scientifically. However, the hot spring may be a Japanese vitalizer.

  • Someone should do something like this over in the UK....i wish i lived in Japan. Its so awesome.

  • Arima Onsen is the hot spring which is the most prestigious in Japan.

Therefore there are few amusements here. Hot water of Arima Onsen is said to be highest quality hot water in Japan.

By the way, the broken rice cracker is low-priced. The taste is the same.

  • I'm living in ARIMA,KOBE,JAPAN.

    thanks!!!!

  • Lovey, lovely video. I want to go to Japan, so badly. I love hearing foreingers speak the language, too. Thank you for showing us around this lovely country!

  • Arima looks incredbile! Especially the hospitality. Often, I hear about how foreigners are treated coldly in Japan, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Everyone is so nice!

  • Our family's favourite spa town (as my wife is from Kobe). Thanks millions for showing it to the world in such a pleasant way.
