An osprey flies onto the Pelican Harbor bald eagle nest with it's breakfast. After calling out and looking around, it settles down to eating. A poop shot towards the end shows that it's been eating well. Once finished with it's catch, it doesn't stick around.
This nest is part of the ongoing restoration project by IWS. You can read about the struggle to reintroduce America's symbol, the Bald Eagle, to the Channel Islands as well as watch this miracle of nature via live eagle-cam by going to http://www.iws.org and clicking first on 'interactive' and then choosing one of the nests to view on Catalina Island and Santa Cruz Island or go to: http://z7.invisionfree.com/CHIL_EagleCAM/index.php?act=idx
Excellent capture ... I'm thrilled to see an Osprey on SC Island. They were wiped out by DDT just like the bald eagles. It looked and sounded quite young and might have been a juvie passing thru on it's first migration. Soooo cool to see!!!!

cool catch....love Ospreys and their chirp...wonder what the eagle pair would do if they were around with an Osprey visitor? Looking forward to seeing if this nest has better luck next season!
