  • If I wanted to stick to the 8-12 rep range, would I keep at a weight until I can do 12 reps on all sets, or add weight as soon as I can do 12 reps on the first set, although unable to do 12 on the following sets? Thanks, great vid.

  • @ZZchaz If you can do even 1 set in strict form easily. You are ready to add weight. Just use a couple of 2.5 lb plates or extra collars. The point is to make every set challenging so that your muscles have a reason to grow. Keep it up.

  • Excume me Micheal, I have some questions for you and a request, hope you don't mind.

    I recently bought a barbell with 1/3 more weight that I can lift at the moment so I can use it as I progress. I was wondering what muscles I could stimulate with a barbell, the biceps are a given.

    Also how long should I wait between each 12-20 reps? What type of drinks should I take pre-post workout?

    And for the request please make some barbell video, or any videos for that matter :).

  • @XTCMatrix There is really no meaningful muscle group you could not exercise with a barbell. Pecs, delts, triceps, legs, etc. EVERYTHING!

    I usually rest 1-2 minutes between sets. It can be shorter or longer depending on the type of training I am doing. A nice protein shake is a nice choice post workout. What's important is to feed your muscles plenty of protein and carbs within 30-60 minutes after a workout. Some bodybuilders have even used ice cream or chocolate milk for this purpose.
