@theo7179 e4od's will hold up to the 7.3DI engines no prob yes the allison is a freaking awesome transmission but to think its the only one worthy of being put behind a diesel is idiotic, theres manuals out there that are tougher than an allision, case in point the nv4500, although gm and ford no longer offer a manual due to the extremes of the tq ratings, by the way i also work in the automotive field livernois vehicle development LLC, we are 3rd in the country for high perf. :)

@sm32586 Having worked in the automotive field for many years I must say you missed something, The 7.3 is an ex military motor that was not that reliable or efficient until it was reworked by International for Ford. Ask anyone who had the same motor without the turbo, not so good. The "Electronic 4 speed with Overdrive" may be better than Fords other transmissions but anyone in the industry knows that Allison is the king of Automatics that will hold up to the torque of a Diesel.
