Firebrick construction BLOOMERY FURNACE used to smelt iron by members of the Dark Ages Re-creation Company on November 6, 2010. A total of 24 kg haematite grit is converted to a 8.5 kg high carbon bloom. Details at : http://www.warehamforge.ca/ironsmelting/Nov10/nov10.html

  • very nice video, I'm going to build a permanent bloomery from firebrick soon, I'v e been experimenting with mud ones, and they seem to produce a decent amount of iron

  • Nice video..you can just picture the vikings making steel. for their swords and battle axes..Great great video..
