Chub Fishing On The River Stort Testing Dean Macey Avon Rod

This is me (Callum Mcinerney a.k.a Craftycarper) fishing on the River Stort on the Harlow Mill Beef Eater stream

I was testing the Dean Macey signature Avon Twin Tip for the first time

The result was 5 chub which I had on a after college session of about 1:30 hours

I was just having another play around with the Avon Twin Tip the day after and managed 3 smaller chub up to 4lb and the last chub on the video was just over 5lb I couldn't resist gettin a video of my first 5lber of 2008

i used to fish there 30 years ago, and it was strictly private then, the Italian guy in the factory behind the curved bush in your background used to chase us off.

how did you get permission to fish there as it is solid with fish, and never gets fished.

it would be harder to catch em out of a barrel than that backwater..

@kempouk it was day ticket for about 5 years but recently they have a gym on site as well as other things and they have completely banned fishing once again. Still might be worth a poach. There's a lot of fish in there still but it's not that easy.

what kind of bait do you use?

It's cheese paste mixed with a few added extras.

Formula Fish glug mainly.

Boilies catch alot of carp

oh i c,

well it was 30 years ago lol,, the whole place was tree lined and the chub were in there 100s,

i used to strott a chubber under that bridge with lobworms and bag up,, its very shallow though,,

only ever problem with this river is once you have caught one or two fish you will have to mve on coz its only a small river and their is no cover on this side of the river but good vid.

nice fish buddy, I'm from romania but I do not come so easily, often find copies of more than 1-2 kg remaining 300-500gr
