Midnight- Performed by James Hunnicutt...
This song is of a great significance & not only on a personal level. "Midnight" was written by Boudleaux Bryant & co written by Chet Atkins. Bryant also penned hits ranging from hits by the Everly Brothers("Bye, Bye, Love", "Wake up Little Suzie" & "All I have to do it Dream" among others) to the Osborne Brothers' classic "Rocky Top". Red Roley originally recorded Midnight in 1951 to my knowledge, though it would not become a hit until 1953. The song is also of great significance due it being what is commonly believed to be the last song Hank Williams ever performed live before his death on New Year's Eve 1952. Many artists have recorded the song though my personal favorites would be Red Foley's version & Porter Wagoner's version from 1956. I included pictures of Red, Chet, Porter & "A-Team" members- Grady Martin, Bob Moore & Buddy Harmon whereas I know that Grady & Bob played on multiple versions of the song. I also included some pictures from when I toured with Wayne Hancock because we coincidentally sang Midnight together during my last show with him at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix, AZ on 8/2/09. I recorded this version of Midnight in 2008 & did all of the tracks myself & one can hear that the vocals & guitar solo took great inspiration from Porter Wagoner's version. Hope you enjoy it & be sure to subscribe to my channel & check out my other clips :-) Thanks!
