Real innovation and creativity can only occur when human beings push their perceptions and challenge what they know to be true. Nothing of real value is discovered in mediocrity and lazy thought.

Because the human mind is capable of so much if you just relax. Some people are disturbed and troubled by the avant garde, the ambiguous and the symbolic because it accesses areas of the brain that many people simply do not explore. Modern Art is there to challenge the senses and help people to find excitement and discovery by helping to step outside of their comfort zone.

Sounds interesting but very ambiguous. Whatever happened to the normal traditional dancing which is aesthetically pleasing to the senses and stimulates the mind and body. Why does modern art always have to code itself in some symbolic form, language which only specific groups understand? Is it a way for artist to feel special and intellectually superior?
