IBM's new CSP2 platform provides cloud services such as desktop management to influence the cloud based business strategy of communications service providers.

Hi, my name is Scott Stainken. I'm the General Manager of the Telecommunications Industry for IBM and I'd like to tell you about a very exciting announcement that we've made, the Cloud Service Provider Platform, or CSP2. And CSP2 is very much based on some of the things we've done in the past. As a matter of fact, it's the most significant announcement we've made for the industry since we announced SPDE, the Service Provider Delivery Environment. So, core elements like the service delivery platform, service management, aspects of what we've done with portal, and the programs that we incorporate into SPDE to build the ecosystem very much make the platform, make up elements of the platform for the Cloud Service Provider platform. And, so what are we announcing? First and foremost, we're announcing the world's first carrier grade service management platform. It's highly scalable, highly reliable, highly secure which is really important for the carriers as they launch services today and the services start become more full-blown, let's say, going from base services to more complex services. So, they have to be secure and it has to be scalable. So, that's number one. Number two is we're announcing the Cloud Service Accelerator Program and that enables the CSPs to launch services into the marketplace very fast. On our platform, it's built on existing products and services that we have today. The third thing we're announcing which is very important is ecosystem programs. How do we bring ISVs, business partners and programs to build the business, build the business strategy? This is an area that often gets overlooked but it's really important to launch new services into the marketplace. So, that's why we structured CSP2 based on create, manage and monetize. So, on the create side, it's how you launch services quickly into the marketplace by leveraging the ISV community, leveraging application developer platforms like we've done with SK Telecom and launching new services offering which are based on offerings that we can bring to the marketplace liked desktop management, Security as a Service, that the CSPs can offer as their own products with their own brands or they can choose to offer it as an IBM product like Lotus Live. Manage, as I said, is really important as far as the service delivery manager and the ability to scale in a very secure, reliable manner. And then finally, monetize. We think this is an area that's very, very important and often overlooked. How do you transform your sales force, transform marketing, improve your web presence with self-service web portals is extremely important so that your customers can find you and then you can sell the core product and upsell or cross-sell from there. So, we think it's an extremely exciting announcement. We think we have the best depth and breadth in the marketplace and I thank you for listening to me today.
