NO reason to have functioning tracks on a STATIC model and the tracks are too fragile to be used on movable models anyways! -These track should only be bought from a point of having peace of mind as in "it´s real metal tracks"...ModelKasten (japan) produces plastic single pieces / movable tracks that works just as fine and look equally good when painted.....It´s basically a "purist problem" which ones to choose...

A very simple way to make the supplied wire VERY straight is simply to stretch it! Put one end in a vise and pull it firmly in a straight line away from the vise with a pair of pliers.
No vise? pull with a friend and 2 pairs of pliers!
No friends? Not my problem! By the way, that's how the brass wire got so straight. When it was originally made it was wound up tightly on a big spool.

what i do with these track is put them in laundry detergent and use a tooth brsh to wash them. let dry. then i put on Black n it, it is used alot with modellers for Fruilmodel tracks and acts as a great tough primer. then what i do is paint and weather and pigment or whatever you like. These tracks can take alot of abuse from enamel paints or sanpaper for revealing the metal sheen.
You have to be rich to put Friulmodel tracks on every tank you build! I have two sets, a panzer 1 and 4 and I don't think i'll buy them again

The advantage is added weight to the model and fully functional links.

I recommend them for that extra touch of realism. I like to scratch away the paint and rust them in water for a super real look.

Personally I don't care for rusted tracks but should be interesting video...

They don't have to be rusted, Friulmodel tracks look great coated in "black4tracks" or dark gun metal paint.
