MSNBC Agenda

A couple of recent MSNBC distortions.

The first distortion I want to talk about is the whole Obama Birth Certificate Conspiracy Theory. Now, like most people, I don't think there's anything serious to this theory, but I have been following it for a long time, and MSNBC distorted it. They presented Orly Taitz as "The leader of the birther movement", and this just isn't correct. There are no real leaders to this movement, but the highest profile person in this is not Taitz, but attorney Phil Berg. He's been working on this for much longer than Taitz. You can hear Taitz confirm this in her interview with the Young Turks, that she came into the Birther movement after seeing Berg. The reason that MSNBC wants to present Taitz as the leader, is because of her looks and her manner. Unfortunately for her, she comes across very poorly, almost a "Crazy Lady" type appearance. This makes it much easier for them to push their agenda of painting the right as a collection of lunatics. Personally, I don't find Bergs arguments any more compelling, but he was an assistant attorney general, has a more serious prior career in law, and is much more eloquent. He has a much stronger claim to the "leader" title. But, he's also a democrat. These facts mean he doesn't fit the agenda MSNBC is pushing.

The next distortion I want to discuss is the recent health care meetings, and the people bringing guns to them. MSBCs treatment of this is also deceptive. They actually went so far as to edit the video so that the viewers could not see that the man carrying the gun was black. This then enabled them to push their "racist" claims. Another case of distorting the facts to match the agenda. The black man who was a large focus of this story is also not a right winger. If you listen to his interview on the Alex Jones show, he confirms he's much more of an anarchist. Something that MSNBC doesn't want to cover, because that would show that this isn't a simple Republican vs Democrat issue. It has more to do with Libertarians like the Ron Paul supporters than the mainline Republicans. We saw this also with the Tea Party story, again, the fact that much of that movement started with the Ron Paul people was not adequately covered, as it doesn't fit the agenda.

We had plenty worse than Obama and we had plenty worse than Bush. Reagan was worse than Bush. He didn't have a war, and his economy still sucked ass, Reagan's unemployment was worse than Obama's

Left, schmeft... you do understand fundamentally that all news organizations have an agenda? Especially those in the for profit industry? Which means every single one of your cable channels, with the exception of CSPAN? They all do their best to influence you to make decisions that will help their bottom line. RIght wingers do it, too. The lesson here is that no one should take ANY cable TV "news" channel seriously, they should do their own homework instead.

Side Note: How is this legal?

In Feb. 2003 a Florida Appellate Court ruled that Jane Akre, was not entitled to damages when she was fired by Fox News for refusing to take part in a false story.

Fox News argued that there is no written rule against distortion of the news. After 3 failed attempts, they won in an appeal. This has made false reporting legal for years.

Thank you Fox News, you made journalist integrity a thing of the past!

@fret2424 I'd correct this by saying that MSNBC is just as scary crazy far left as fox is right. I agree that Media is sold out. They are fair weather friends, and just ride popularity for ratings.
