Whether the US/UK leave now or in ten years time will not make a jot of difference.

Trying to impose a western style democracy on Afganistan is like trying to put a miniskirt and boob tube on a nun. It doesn't go.

Before the USSR invaded in the 80's it was a reasonably stable country. I just hope that the Afghans themselves can find someway to return to that.
