@iheartsuppressors I've heard that silencer isn't the best term. Maybe it was just easier to non shooters to understand? Just a thought, but I've never shot a silenced gun with supersonic rounds so I'd have to take your opinion over mine. I just heard that it was to aid in no longer needing hearing protection. So good to know Thanks :)

@needzpower2 Silencer and suppressor is the same thing. The inventor, Hiram Percy Maxim, called it a "silencer". As far as I know BATFE also calls it a silencer. However I think the term, silencer, is a misnomer. Even with a silencer a weapon firing supersonic bullets will still be really loud. Therefore I prefer the term "suppressor".

I know for a fact I don't know what the difference between a silencer and a supressor is, but if you watch sons of guns they state that a supressor is just there to make it so you no longer need hearing protection while shooting. It doesn't completely SILENCE a gun like in the movies. Both yall stop pickering.
