Kalash of Cultures - Pakistan

In a remote part of northern Pakistan, a tribe believed to be descended from Alexander the Great is facing cultural annihilation.

As animists, the Kalash Kafirs live by cultural practices which clash with those of the Muslim Pakistanis' that surround them. Their identity is constantly undermined by their Muslim neighbours. Help comes in the form of volunteers from Greece who believe that the Kalash people are part of their own ancient history and worth preserving. New facilities are being built but such help comes at a price. "They are building in their own way...I think they should build like Kalash," complains villager Mohammed. Whether fact or fiction, the Kalasha realise the commercial value of their founding myth and so are keen to preserve it. However, it is their spiritual life and beliefs that they feel are under threat by the growing hostility of fundamentalists. With jobs promised to those that convert, over 6,000 have reluctantly given up their bright national dress to become Muslim. For the Kalash people, both their past and future remain uncertain.

@Arielgriffin My copies of the koran are legitimate. Most of the translations of the the koran are done by muslims themselves (including muslim convert Pickthall, one of the copies I own).

The culture is islamic. Remove Islam and the people will civilise themselves.

the "Qur'an" you read was a book with writings altered from the original Qur'an and with Qur'an written on top of it. That Book was a probably the product of hypocrites. I have an english copy of a "Qur'an" and since I am not a Scholar In Islam I can't judge if it's legit.

@Arielgriffin I've read the koran and many hadith. I don't watch tv so stop making ridiculous assumptions. You could interpret Islam to be be peaceful if you omitted the hadith but very few muslims would do this. Calls to violence in the koran overrides (abrogation) the peaceful ones such as there being "no compulsion in religion".

The only one who needs education is people like you, who cling to the delusion that your mythology is not responsible for the rape and bloodshed in your communities.

The people who live in areas such as the one in the video are traditional thinkers, their minds think in the ways of the old days. They would pay closer mind to their honor and pride more than the religion they follow.

1) Indians are Caucasians.

2) The word Aryan is Sanskrit for "noble." It does not denote a race. Aryan Invasion never happened.

3) Sanskrit is the mother tongue of all Indo-European languages and has even influenced languages beyond this expansive group.
