Rackspace - Northeast ISD - Gemini Ink "My Part of Town" project

Poetry by students at Northeast Independent School District's (NEISD) White Middle School with Gemini Ink's Writers in Communities program in San Antonio, TX.

"My Part of Town" was a 4-week after-school poetry project at White Middle School in NEISD. Twenty-four students wrote poems about their neighborhood, and their work was illustrated by artist Carolina G. Flores. Broadsides were then created, and two poetry walking tours were exhibited in the summer of 2010 in the Windcrest neighborhood, and in the King William District (Southtown).

Gemini Ink, Rackspace and NEISD have developed a partnership to improve the community through motivated students, engaged parents, socially responsible partners and an involved community.
