City-dwellers John and Mary are hit hard by The Depression. Desperate, they flee to the country and set up a farming community with a group of other like-minded people. Their micro-society is based upon the teachings of Edward Gallafent. They suffer drought, vicious raccoons and the long arm of the law - but ultimately pull together to find happiness -- and bread.
the more things change, the more they stay the same!!

This isn't Communist; no one is aiming a gun at these people's heads. They can disagree or grumble without punishment. This is the beginning of a community. A town where some one will be the blacksmith, the horse breeder, run different stores, a savings & loan, a mill and a school and places of worship. Yes, it's a kind of socialism, but the kind where people will work willingly to make a place that will grow and benefit all, especially the children. The way government should be. By the people.
