Bought a pair of staintune mufflers for my Honda ST1300. The silencers / baffles are in. This couples a turbocity tom fuel pressure regulator with k&n filter and pipes Start with a camera sweep, neutral revs, fast revving near redline, slow revving, and cruise then a oncoming and pass view from 2k, 3k, 4k, and high rpm.

Under load the exhaust is noticeable and audible from a distance. Unloaded at highway speeds or "cruising" there isn't much distinction from stock and aftermarket exhaust. Listen for decal popping and "character". This can be found under load or above 5,000 rpm.

  • I've visited a number of muffler swap mods on Youtube and other sites. Quite frankly, I prefer the stock sound. It matches the sophistication of the bike. I can't help but think a muffler swap is more for Boy Racer types on Crotch Rockets.

The ST1300 is a perfectly performanced balanced bike with an exhaust that matches the image and powerplant. Modifying the exhaust just seems childish...no offence intended...just an opinion.

  • @stevest1300 None taken. I agree strapping a cheap can to make noise isn't of interest on this bike. The Staintune is a pipe of beauty though and with appropriate fueling smooths out power delivery at low revs. I see you bought a ST in Chilliwack, I'm in Abbotsford I'm sure I'll see you around.

  • put it down, similar mileage but the hands stay dry and while there's slight buffeting it's no where near the stock windblast and there's no backpressure. This is an aeroflow tall and it's a bit more protection than I want.

  • Greetings!

I would like to ask a question about the ST1300,

What is that whistling sound on low RMP? :)

  • @babudsanyi The whistle / flutter sound is caused by straight-cut gears on the counter balance shafts over quiet helical gears. Straight cut gears offer an efficient transfer and last longer. As a result the ST engine is one of the smoothest mills available. Check out stock st1300 exhaust clips to really hear it.

  • sounds awesome under hard acceleration!

  • Two questions, how well does that windshield work compared to the stock one and what kind of mileage can you get now with that setup? By the way, I'm the idiot with the 2006 wheelie video on here.

  • Awesome bike, awesome sound.

  • I have an st1300 and it always sounds whistly at tickover, just a quirke of the honda V4
