anybody watch the movie and/or remember what the Japanese word for the "everybody is one family"?

Not sure how happy they were when the Japanese convinced them to commit suicide during the invasion of Okinawa. It took decades for them to deal with the psychological backlash from that time period. Adding to that, the Japanese have treated Okinawans like garbage - not as bad as they treat the Ainu - but garbage nonetheless.
