This clip was from a mid night work out at my dojo in Burlington MA ... Guru Edward Lebe of BARINGIN SAKTI "HARIMAU" PENCAK SILAT here on a tour of the U.S. Guru from West Java, Indonesia taveled from the other side of the world to give us a very rare treat, he shared his 45 + years of martial arts training with a group of about 30 willing Students, ( not all from the school of "Silat" But all from of the school of learning). We covered and un-covered much from the way of "HARIMAU" .
To see Guru Lebe's skills up close its hard to belive he's in his mid 60s, by his movement one might think he was in his young 20s! We are all looking forward to get back to I.P.S.I. even more, now that we got a fresh dose of Baringin Sakti ! PS The "uke" Michael Fitzgerald is a Senior Instructor at MARI.
Guru Edward Lebe taught at my Mosque in Chicago. He is great!!!!!@!@!

then you should learn silat correctly metallian187! i believe you had learnt some silat stuff but i don't believe you understand it (means that you can't relate it with the real situation)
like malay proverb says: don't blame the floor if you don't dance nicely....

I do karate and a style of silat! There a lot of things wich are very good for real self defense... but in a real situation, I don't think that going to the ground is a good idea: the enemy is maybe not alone, there is maybe some pieces of bottle on the ground, stones... That's why I say it useless in real situation. I do this kind of move during my training but in a life or death situation I would never do this.

To Metallian187
I don't have any ideas why you say such these words..'useless in real combat??", you've got to be kidding me...If you learn deeply, you'll know how effective this martial art is...to the point.
I agree with brry3789..
