I have been to the Taos Pueblo several times during Christmas Eve, and both the first track song "Green Chili Christmas" and the spoken piece "Christmas Eve" paint vivid pictures of the event at the Pueblo. They honor their traditional Pueblo ceremonies along with Catholic practices expressed in their own unique way. This is a beautiful community celebration in Taos; not a time of politics. This album is as beautiful and rich as the people and the celebration itself.
@ginapocan What they did, when they did those horrible things to our ancestors, they spit in the eye of their own God. Many Indians today are Christian, and we need to remember this, and to understand that Christianity isn't a white religion, and we need to take the "white" our of it.
What my people need to do, even the ones who carry traditional beliefs, is that they need to take the "White" out of Christmas, and out of Christianity. White people don't have a monopoly on Christianity. True our people suffered in the name of Christianity, but they must remember who was enforcing it back then. Christ wasn't even white, he was Mediterranean. What the white Christians did was unbiblical anyway . They went against their own faith. They twisted what the bible said.
Love, hope, joy and blessings to you - we are indeed one and are all connected with the one great energy of that which creates us, all of us... Peace, light, and love to you and yours on these holy-days and holidays!
He has right, again. Music is our universal language! It doesn't matter our religion! It matter just feeling music, good music! Christmas is all of us!
