Starview1: Perhaps if the US had chosen a name this would not happened, see the british were not the only colonist power, as you put it, way back , there were spaniers, portugueses, and so on. So if you had an italian imigrant going to, G I don't know Argentina or Mexico way back then, he would say that he was going to America.
