  • @JudgeSturdy This was recorded on a reel to reel and then put to LP for K-Arc records, you can go to the Dillards web site and it should tell you more. My Dad played music until his death in 2005, Joe Noel also passed away 5 months after my Dad. My Dad taught himself how to play banjo later in life. go to charger69jv and give him a listen. Thanks.

  • @charger69jv

Thanks. I understand that, but is this from a record, reel-to-reel tape? Is your dad still with us? Joe Noel? Did they continue to play bluegrass around St. Louis after Doug & Rodney took off?

  • @JudgeSturdy 1957 or 1958,my Dad is singing lead, when the band was first formed it was called Joe Noel and The Dixie Ramblers.

  • Where did this recording come from? Did these guys cut an album back then? This is mighty fine stuff.

  • No problem, and thank you for the comment.

  • SImply amazing!

Thanks for the history lesson, and thanks for the tune!
