One of the hardest days of my life, ever! I know this is the whole reason I bought Sammy in the first place, but letting him go is something I honestly stuggled with!
My little Sammy (14.hhish 4 year old full welsh cob gelding) has now been sold to a fantastic girl called Joanne who will have great fun furthering his education, on the ground and in the saddle. She does natural horsemanship too, they both just go so well together and she's absolutely amazing with him, so calm and patient - and told me he has a home for life! exactly the kind of person I could have hoped for!
He went on saturday the 1st of October. Such a difficult day... mixed feelings of gladness, and sadness! haha! But I couldn't make it up to the yard untill 5pm, and she had to be there for 3pm, so my dad went to the yard to deal with everything and I was just going to head up after 5. So I phoned my dad about half four to see how everything went, fully expecting Sam to be on his way and me not to see him again!! But... Sam had other ideas, think the little monkey wanted to say another goodbye, as he wouldnt load! So not like him, he's great with the trailer! So I was like well I'll be there in ten mins... headed up to the yard, everrrryone on the yard was out to say goodbye to him, and they'd all been there for 2 hours!! He was just standing all like "hey mum... these folk are all trying to steal me, but I just said no!" hahaha!! So I gave him a pat, and Joanne was sooo good with him, so so patient and loving :) But I said I'd try him, I turned him round, headed to the trailer, and he walked right on.... I actually almost burst out crying!!! So I backed him up, walked him forward, gave him lots of pats, then brought him back off again. Loaded him again, back and forward a few times, then off again. he loaded about 5 times in a row! So then Joanne tried again, and he went on! :D Such a dude. He just didn't want to go without saying goodbye!!!

But what a little star, I honestly love him to peices. Watching the trailer drive away with almost a year and a half of my life in it was awfull. That's when it really hit me. He has been a dream and a pleasure to work with from day one, such a fast learner and sooo willing to please! He just made everyone fall in love with him without even trying and had the sweetest little personality! Everyone was heartbroken to see him go, we were all in tears over it!

He went from being an fidgety, stressy, skinny, unsure little foal like thing to a beautiful, powerful, loving, confident big horse who tries his very best all the time to be your best friend. I couldn't have had better two horses than I have had with Jay and Sam, they are both absolute dreams and I am forever greatful to them both for helping me through so much.
Sam will always be the horse who's now started my "career" backing and selling, he was such a fantastic horse to both teach and learn from, I'm not going to lie, there were times when I was like "am I ever going to be able to get him to do this?" or "how am I ever going to get him to stop doing that!?" haha, but, it always works out in the end, and although it was such a negative day for so many reasons, I know it was mostly positive. I will honestly miss the little lad, but I know he's going to the best home possible and I'm so glad someone else can now experience the joy and happiness Sam brings around!

Sammy is a chapter in my life I will never forget. Joanne and Sam are honestly going to have the most amazing life together, they are suited to the T and I can't wait to see the partnership that's going to grow between them. I wish them both the very best of luck and I will be visiting very soon to see how he is!

My plans; get through winter! Just keep it easy this winter, spend time with Jay, keep him happy, not do too much with him either but keep him ticking over, then about january time, weather depending, go back to Tom and get another youngster to fatten up to back in the spring :)My yard owner has asked me to find a horse for both her grandaughters, so that might be by next aim! But I will probobly go back for something else anyway :)

I'm so so lucky to have these opportunities, and I thank everyone who has made it possible, wether it was my mum and my dad helping me out every day, friends at the yard, my yard owners being so great, tom for always being so honest and pointing me in the right direction of some fantastic horses, and you guys too, for every single word of support and kindness that's helped me get through. I thank you all soooo much, and I hope you have all had a great 2011!

And if any of you's read all this or watched the whole video I seriously do thank you!

Can I also thank the amazingggg AllyEquestrian for my bg she made me, it really is fantastic! She's such a dude even if none of us understand what she says ;)
