  • How good is Angus? Lots of opinions and comparisons to Jimmy Page, Slash etc..

    1) Try the Thundersruck intro with Angus' laser accurate picking and see how far you get.

Not pulloffs, but picking every note.

    2) Try the Stiff Upper Lip intro using hybrid picking for the A string and keep it going all the way.

    3) Angus' vibrato is widely considered one of the best ever, if not the best. He's in many ways a blues player in a hard rock band.

  • To be so good and so humble. Cool cat man.

  • @olegsokolov I love the Young Bros...they have a special blend of skills, including creativity and "guitar skills". The songs effect people, the show effects people, and he has that thing, the individuality. It may look easy, but you try it...Paco du Lucia couldnt do what Angus does:Paco sits in a chair.Very few can do what Paco does on guitar. Name 2 other guitarists at Paco's level? Angus is a household name. It's not fair in a way...Angus deserves everything , but Paco at his peak o_0,wow !!!!

  • Interesting video. He's far more personable than I expected--on stage he appears, frankly, grotesque. He's succeeded in overcoming a lack of stature using the "schoolboy" device, which I suppose shows that where there's a will there's a way. Definitely a helluva good guitar player.

  • never noticed but he really is a small guy. but One great guitarist!!

  • @jkovert i think he was more into coke or speed

  • @jkovert Angus has been sober since 1980 and haven´t drinked since then.

  • He seems less drunk than he used to 20 years ago.

  • @LedDerek Gotta respect him because he's sold millions of records. He wasn't the force that Page was, but they were still big in their day.

  • I personally use to hate Angus, i use to think he was a cheap version of all the greats before him, but after listening to more of his playing and seeing this interview it's made me realize that he clearly has a strong love for his instrument and that's why he's put so much time into getting his own tone. So he may not be technically amazing, he's still put the dedication and time to find a style that fits him and millions of his fans. Isn't that what guitar is all about?
