fuel, in the uk, costs around 4 times as much as it does in the usa. i'm 20, i own a 3 door car (renault clio). I does 45mpg. When i was in the US i drove a car a little bigger than my own which did 28 mpg, what a waste. As this man says, its not about how much oil you've got, its how much you use.

this has nothing to do about being 'liberal', what does that word mean anyways??? this has to do with people like you and your fat sister who drive unnecessarily huge SUVs for no reason, and far distances, accounting for 30% of the world's air pollution while making up 4% of its population. tell your fat sister to get off the remote so you can change the channel from Fox and you might learn something.

I think that its mainly overall economic performance, due to lack of investment in things that matter for society such as education and healthcare and to much investment in things that bring very little financial return such as military spending.

If you search the web you will find oil protests over much of europe.
However the change hasnt been as significant as in the us because most of our cost of fuel is actually tax, so even a big change in oil costs dosent make that big a proportional impact at the pump.
We are still way more expensive than the US, roughly twice the cost if my rough calculations are right.
