Bill was hit in the head with a baseball when he was a child. The doctors said it could have been that which caused the aneurysm. Or he could have been born with it. No one quite knows for sure.

I think I read somewhere that aneurysms are rare but that some people are genetically predisposed to have them. When he had surgery, they found two. Or maybe that's just the long-term effects of the stress of his job on his cardio-vascular system.
He might be taking a huge risk each time he plays. But having decided to take that risk, it's fabulous to see see and hear him behind the kit. Miss seeing (hearing) them all together...

Had never seen REM live before. I got free tickets to that show from a friend at the last minute. I was blown away at how good they were live and become a convert. It was a great show.
