  • wow...looks primitive. whats the point of it? whats your objective?

  • objective: A very tired Miner Willy has to tidy up all the items left around his house after a huge party

With this done his housekeeper Maria will allow him access to his bedroom.

The game is a sequel to Manic Miner (1983), and is the second game in the immensely popular Miner Willy Series. It was a significant development in the platform game genre on the home micro. It was published by Software Projects.

  • @oddisnum1 Also, the objective was fukd.

The game was broke on Spectrum, C64 and CPC.

You had to poke it. sort of like an early patch that you had to type in yourself..

Plus you gotta appreciate that games back then were HARD.

When i played JSW, i just explored, got me killed plenty enough.

If someone could collect all the shit on a poked version, that's the messiah right there :)

Noone else could do it xD

  • is this emulated? because i cant remember it running this slow.

can remember it being better than the speccy version.

which it should have been, msx is a more powerful machine

obviously i only have an emulator know, looking for an msx.

but prices are in laa laa land for them on ebay.

  • Mmm... I think this is NOT an MSX version... I have two Jet Set Willy on my MSX and they are (and sounded) different.

  • @limox It is 'If I were a rich man' from the musical Fiddler on the Roof.

  • There are 2 versions of this for the MSX ?

  • @oddisnum1 of course it looks primitive the game was originally made for the ZX-Spectrum computer in England

  • @HellNight7 THERE`S another verson made by Cameron Else for software projects in 1884. it`s better than spectrum ones in every way. have a try.

  • Did this game really run that slow on the MSX compared with the Spectrum version?

Oh and I was 13 yrs old when this came out and I remember getting up and going into my Bradford WH Smiths store when it opened at 9am. I had waited with huge anticipation for the release of this game and I was not disappointed. It was a real cult game with everyone I knew, one of whom actually completed it without cheating (I got reasonably close but never managed it).

  • I think the blue thing means that u cant jump over it XD

  • I would get tired of the same music playing over again and again, on the spectrum the in-game music can be turned off, I hope they built that feature into this one.
