"Tibetan monks storm a press briefing to accuse China of lying over the Tibet rebellion, as Lindsey Hilsum reports.
30 young Tibetan monks have stormed a Chinese press briefing, telling journalists: "Don't believe them. They are tricking you."
The incident is a major embarrassment to the Chinese authorities. The briefing formed part of a stage-managed trip of 26 selected journalists - which didn't include Channel 4 News - to Tibet to demonstrate that the unrest of the past two weeks is over.
After the protest at Lhasa's Jokhang temple - one of the most sacred in Tibet - the monks were led away, sparking fears for their safety."

If Tibet is costing the chinese communist party money it should leave Tibet today.
The Corrupt Colonial Chinese Communist Party has been looting, torturing, killing and doing all sorts of other nasty stuff in Tibet since the invasion of independent Tibet 60 years ago. MANY hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have been killed.

The rioting was caused by the soldiers, so that they could then retaliate. It's unfortunate the Chinese who post here are so ill-informed. It's the same like Nazis blaming Jews to be troublemakers.
ok in a communist place they value everyone working towards the same goal, monks just want to do their thing and be left alone. It's much like a bank robber just wanting to do their own thing and be left alone, the monks are sucking off the people of china (robbing the bank) and are just wanting to be left alone. In a communist government everyone has their place and the monks refusing to conform is harmful to the harmony of that region. Tibet doesn't have freedom to not fit in.
Who staged the riots this time? China or USA? If difficult to decide, look back at history: we're quite sure, which was even admittedly by US government, that the 1959 riots were staged by CIA!
Ok, why don't anyone question the monks themselves. In the riots, you could clearly see monks taking part of the riot. So their words have their own agenda, especially with journalist there.
Why do you complain about the chance of China and Tibet being split, which is highly unlikely, when Tibet has already been SPLIT into pieces by the chinese communist party ???
But i understand, western medias(except Russia) are wishing China would break up faster so they could get a chance to eat this fat chunk of meat. but guess what? China has never been, and will be never be ruled by non-Chinese (Genghis Khan is Chinese) people! United Nation should move to Shanghai, to a country where they REALLY want worldpeace, but not a country that's only fake claiming they want world peace.
