LOL! Joan has never been one to waste an outfit. One time a wonderful baritone (Manuguerra) remarked that he had seen her in a similar dress. She replied that she had simply reworked an old dress, and playing to the stereotype of Scottish thriftiness, she finished by saying, "Sono scozzese" (I'm Scottish)

You're a hoot is a colloquial expression meaning something that is enjoyable and a bit crazy. Anyway, her full quote was, "You're a hoot! Do you think I'd sing any better if they made me a Dame?" Which means, the title of Dame wouldn't make me a greater singer than I am every day.". But the greatest honor of her career was being made a member of the Queen's Order of Merit-a small list of great people in different fields. Joan is the only musician in the group.

Ci avete fatto caso? La grande Dame Joan qui indossa (e siamo nel 1984) lo stesso vestito che ha indossato qualche mese fa (2009) a un concorso di canto a Cardiff!
