a correction on my commentary thanks to . the wild pitch that chresbo threw was in the final game of the regular season, not the world series. and shoeless joe jackson hit .406 in 1911, and it was a white sox record to this day, not a league record. in fact that same year ty cobb hit .420, beating out jackson for the batting title.
