i dunno if this was quite at midnight... but even if it was i'm sure it wasn't SOLAR midnight (which means that the sun is on the other side of the earth directly from your location) - note that with the width of timezones solar midnight can easily deviate from 0:00 or 12:00 am - and the Kenai Peninsula is only at 60.3*N latitude so it doesn't quite have 24 hours of sunlight in one day
dude! I know I'm from soldotna and I live in arizona now, and people dont belive me. I just moved here like a month ago and I tell people all of the time" you guys actually get dark skies at night, pretty lucky!

When you live in alaska, ( I used to live in soldotna) you pretty much get used to have the sun up like that.

I bet winter is extremely bitter there. In winter, even at noon, the sun doesn't rise!
