probably the best-looking rc buggy in my opinion! i had one back in the 80's but failed to preserve it. i was so thrilled when tamiya came out with the re-issue!

  • Really nice vid. Shows off the hotshot really well in the slow motion parts. Kind of reminds me of the old tamiya promotion vids from the 80's :)

  • @thegoodbear1 thanks for the comment, those promotion vids were exactly my inspiration for rc vids ive made =)

  • Great video! I'm rebuilding my original 1985 Hotshot from my early teen years for my son. I haven't ran it since the 80's. Your video will serves as one of my inspiration for this project. My son is already excited. I'm just trying to find the front shock as the original one is already busted. If I can find a way to convert it to dual shocks, that'll be great too.

  • thank you for the comment!

Good luck with the re-build, post a video when you finally get it running!

  • great video ian. talo mo pa yun mga tamiya promo vids.

  • thanks joel, classic yung mga vids na yon, they're one of the reasons i got into rc!

  • I just got a rerelase and it runs great! The stock electronic speed control is junk. I replaced it with a novak control and i run a 7 cell stick pack. The Hotshot hauls butt!

  • yeah , the best looking buggy by far !! they rocked in the 80s still do, must be a few still out there , they be worth a bit now I reckon !

  • hey is it supposed to go about as fast as the hornet, i cant really tell from this video but my 1985 hotshot feels like its going a bit slow, and the hornet has a dead gearbox so theres no way to do a side by side test.

  • Had one of these in the 80's as a teenager and loved it.

  • Wow!! very cool!! :D

    Quality video +5stars!!
