Excellent. I hadn't considered using a vise like that to rivet. Makes extraction a bit more dependable.

Also, shape the head correctly, then cut threads and you've got yourself a bolt!

@nedge46 They are two different pieces of metal. When you build the tool you first take three pieces of metal and clamp them in the vice. Two of the pieces are thick like 1" square and the center one is a very thin piece of flat bar. Drill right through the flat bar vertically (cutting it in half) the size of the rivet. Then weld a piece of metal to the tool to act as a spring to keep the pieces apart. Then use it like shown here.

how did you get the groove between the two pieces?
I know that its just a rivet, but it was beautiful...8D
