The Secret Life of the East High Teenager [[chapter 51]]

Joe POV
Joe: Where could McKell be?

Kevin: I dont know.

Joe: I need to find her. I need to talk to her.

Kevin: Call her cell.

Joe: I did like 20 times.

Kevin: call Nick and ask if hes found her.

Joe: Good Idea.

I took my phone and called her. Kevin was currently driving because he said I was in no state to drive (too angry).

Nick: Hello?

Joe: Did you find her?

Nick: yeah, you need to come talk to her.

Joe: where was she?

Nick: the tree house.

Joe: Oh, I wouldnt have thought to look there.

Nick: Just come over quick, before she makes a run for it.

He hung up and I told Kevin to head to McKells house. Once we got there I got to the backyard and climbed up the tree house. McKell was in a corner crying and Nick was standing guard of the door.

Joe: Ill take it from here.

He nodded and climbed down the ladder.

Joe: McKell?

She stayed in her corner and didnt look up. I went and sat next to her and brought my knees up and rested my arms on them.

Joe: McKell please look at me.

She looked up and her makeup was smeared, her hair was a little out of place, but she was still the most beautiful girl on earth.

McKell: I didnt want him to kiss me Joe.

Joe: I know.

McKell: I didnt want it at all. I thought he was my friend and I just-

Joe: I know, I wasnt happy, but I wasnt mad at you. Im mad at Chad, and Stacey.

McKell scooted closer to me and put her head on my shoulder and I put my head on hers.

McKell: it was so humiliating. Just completely humiliating. It was in front of the whole school and I really thought he was my friend.

Joe: You deserve better friends than him.

McKell: its just he told me things hes never told anyone else, and I thought I could trust him, but I cant. And dont even get me started on Stacey.

Joe: Lets just forget all of this ok? Because I know you didnt want to kiss him. And thats all that matters.

McKell: Its kind of hard to just forget.

Joe: ok, then lets just not talk about it. Because every time I think about it, or we talk about it, I get one second closer to hurting him.

McKell: Dont do that. Youre so much better than that.

Joe: I wont, for you.

I wrapped my arm around her and brought her closer to me and kissed the top of her head. We sat in silence for a little bit and I realized after 20 minutes that she was asleep. I noticed a blanket and a pillow in the corner of the tree house. Troy must have kept these up here. I went and lay down with her and put her head on the pillow and put the blanket over us. I wrapped my arms around her enjoying the fact that she was in my arms. Soon enough I fell asleep too.
