Glen kept the solos on Come Sail Away though.

I never realized JY did all the solos on this tour. I only saw them once. Interesting time for Styx. Glenn has a great voice. I'm never too critical of replacements when they have a smooth, clear sounding voice. It's never quite the same tone/personality, but when it's good...it's good! Great job Mr. Burtnik!

They found a good replacement for Tommy! Why couldn't they do the same for Dennis??
-
this is like gowan filling in for dennis, but glen does good for this song and can match tommy's voice, no one can do that for ddy but himself
-
Holy heck, I miss Tommy he sounds WAY better. Blue Collar man is my #1 favorite.
-
haha i wish Glen still played bass now

OHH PLEASE i need to change the video to hear tommy shaw sing otherwise my ears will bleed

LMAO
I saw Styx in this incarnation around this time frame at Grand Forks, ND Chester Fritz Theater. Supposedly one of the best accoustically designed theaters on the continent. Burtnik was on stage most of the time doing the pelvic thrust thing for most of the songs...like he was god's gift to women. Good thing they wised up and got TOMMY back. But then they got STUPID again and kicked Dennis out. Dennis STARTED this band. How could these people fire, the originator???

hey- i'd pay good money to see burtnik back on stage with them doing his thrusts! ;) wasn't his fault tommy wasn't with the band at that time. glen is a terrific songwriter/singer/performer and styx was lucky to have him in the band both times. dennis, chuck, and john started the band. however, there was always a lot of internal conflict. in the end, they resolved it the best way they could. both styx and ddy are making music, playing live, and following their paths...

no- he played guitar. he was "tommy" in 91. He didn't play bass until '99, when he was "chuck". ;)
