Do You Need An El Wire Inverter To Power El Wire?

@jggds2 i dont quit understand what you say. you can get an inverter that requires 3V (2 AA) or you can get an inverter that the input power is 12V (8 AA). you will need to test you 12V inverter if it will accept 3V. most likely, it won't either it powers it less brightly than 12V, of it simply wont work at all. but you might be surprised...

@powermaks I know, but I mean with the inversor the 2AA batery
-
but, I mean the investor who uses 2 AA batteries, its work?
-
@jggds2 EL requires AC current, at a few Hundred volts. also, its better to have wire working on high freq. AC. no, EL will NOT work directly from battery's. two reasons why. batterys are not high voltage, nor AC.

I have a question, the 12v wire, it can operate with 2 AA batteries. thanks

Can you run multiple strands of EL wire off of a singe inverter by soldering connectors in parallel? I have a costume idea that would work great if I could use only (1) inverter/battery setup.

Alternating current current?
-
@ccederlo Pretty much. Frequency determines brightness.

All El Technology requires AC voltage going to the El material. To use the USB port you would need an inverter that requires 5VDC going into the inverter. Inverters have two side the power in side and the el output side. The output side will always be some level of AC voltage.
Hope this helped.

Yes you can and please give us a call Toll Free 866-435-9473 and we can explain how to do this. It is real simple but much easier to talk about it over the phone.
Hope this helped.
