The White Stripes perform the song "Hardest Button to Button" from their 2003 album Elephant. "Seven Nation Army" also came off that album.
Note the differences between this live version and the album track.

This was filmed at Much Music in Toronto in 2003.

I am aware the audio and video are not sync'd.

I DID NOT CREATE THIS VIDEO. Clipped from the video available at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2132... .

Jack uses several octave-bending/pitch-shifting effects. Usually he uses a electro-harmonix POG or HOG, and a DigiTech Whammy IV. In addition, for distortion, he uses an ehx Big Muff through his 50- or 100-watt Silvertone and/or his Fender Twin Reverb.

  • Name another 2-musician band capable of doing this and then perhaps you could criticize Meg's drumming.

  • @lesuntzu early black keys stuff is a perfect example.

i don't know much about jeff the brotherhood, but what i've heard is good too.

there was a really amazing two-piece band from philly called victor victor band, a husband and wife. there's videos on youtube of em, i think.

death from above 1979 comes from a completely different style and instrumentation, but they're a perfect example of a "dynamic duo" that creates a remarkably tight wall of sound.

    just to name a few.

  • did he just say a little place to fuck now?

  • @AZNKLINE7 1:19 baha i never noticed that. the words are "to fight now" but it totally sounds like "fuck"

  • Meg White is actually quite a good drummer it's just their appearance for her to be a poor drummer, to keep it primitive and simple. It's so Jack can go berserk and tear sh*t up!

  • @TRAmPLdUNdRfOoT its not an eastwood airline its the real thing

  • @lesuntzu The Kills ;)

  • the white stripe(s) cumon guy

  • @TRAmPLdUNdRfOoT Well yes, of course the Eastwood one is better made. But It's nothing like the original. The Eastwood one is "technically" better, while the Kay one sounds and looks better and is a collector's item.

  • @HipsterDog98 i disagree. ironically, the eastwood is a more expensive (talking original retail prices) and better made guitar (as far as the engineering and playability goes) than the original airlines haha

  • @weekendchannel2 he uses the big muff for his dirty tones and the digitech whammy and POG to mix it up occasionally.

  • @TRAmPLdUNdRfOoT no he only uses real airlines
