PLEASE RATE! A bill introduced by John McCain and Joseph Lieberman, entitled The "Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010," would allow the U.S. military to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens without trial or legal representation on the suspicion that they may pose a threat to the government.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:s3081:

In effect, this bill would mean that ANY public dissent by ANY US citizen could land them in military detention for as long as the government chooses.

Totalitarianism is implemented by degrees. The evidence that a major goal of the phony war on terror has always been to criminalize ordinary US citizens and effectively remove the last vestiges of freedom of speech and even thought is mounting. Americans today are giving up its liberty for security...living more and more each day in a covertly fascist regime...

ABOUT THE BILL:
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d111:s3081:
Since the establishment media is convinced that tea party members, 9/11 truthers, libertarians, Ron Paul supporters, and basically anyone with a dissenting political opinion is a likely domestic terrorist, they should be celebrating the fact that a new bill would allow the government to detain such people as enemy belligerents indefinitely and without trial based on their suspected activity.

The Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010, introduced by Senators John McCain and Joseph Lieberman on Thursday with little fanfare, sets out a comprehensive policy for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected enemy belligerents who are believed to have engaged in hostilities against the United States by requiring these individuals to be held in military custody, interrogated for their intelligence value and not provided with a Miranda warning, writes the Atlantics Marc Ambinder.

The bill does not distinguish between U.S. citizens and non-citizens, and states that suspected belligerents who are considered a high-value detainee shall not be provided with a Miranda warning.

A person is considered a high value detainee if they fulfil one of the following criteria.

(1) poses a threat of an attack on civilians or civilian facilities within the U.S. or U.S. facilities abroad; (2) poses a threat to U.S. military personnel or U.S. military facilities; (3) potential intelligence value; (4) is a member of al Qaeda or a terrorist group affiliated with al Qaeda or (5) such other matters as the President considers appropriate.

  • @demonlordpiccolo Yah, its not much of a determent. We have shotguns, and they have M16's, tanks, and ICBM's. Our best hope is that those entrusted by the government to fire the bigger guns will remain educated on what protecting the constitution actually entails.

  • @preparadox They are not opportunists. This is all a part of a very old plan.

  • @JNathanK2011 This is one of those times when we must truly regret that the 2nd amendment was overthrown over a hundred years ago, to redirect the entire argument toward gun control or no gun control. We have the right to bear arms - whatever arms are necessary to prevent the government from tyrannizing us. Today, we only have small arms, which are a joke compared to what can be found in the hands of even the police, let alone the United States military.

  • @pfarnsworth84 Indeed. So many old books, which contain an almost complete opposite way of thinking than what's to be found in print today, have been removed from libraries, removed from bookstores, removed from second hand stores and no new copies are printed. Take a good look at the empty, useless garbage found in so many public libraries today.

  • "I don't believe in guns" Well the government does.

  • wake up people this IS happening. look up NDAA

  • they are not acting out of panic, they are opportunists, taking advantage of the perception that we are under threat of terrorism from the people or foreigners...when any functioning brain knows that the real terrorists are these same opportunists

  • I just threw up!

  • This is Germany in the 30-40's ....

  • 1:42 the term "patriotic" itself is the core of the disease. so abused and twisted.
